Fire/EMS
All Watauga County Fire Departments (with the exception of Boone and Blowing Rock) are dispatched on the rich/east/west frequencies. They switch to a tac/direct channel once on scene, designated by the incident commander.
Watauga Rescue is now dispatched on the county fire channel; they still use their own VHF & VIPER talkgroup for operations.
