System Notes

In Feb 2023 it was clarified that this Joplin system will join MOSWIN in Zone 6 in the next 18 months. It will be separate from the planned new JASCO system now in licensing for a 6- or 7-location simulcast site, which will also be in Zone 6, but units will be able to roam between the two systems.

Site 2 was added in 2016.  It is located off Goldfinch Road about 3 miles due south of 32nd & Rangeline on a hill, in Newton County. It is about 8 miles SE of the main location #1 on the west side of the city. It rejects affiliation requests for Joplin "city type" TG's, for example, the bus service, PD patrol and record checks, med dispatch, street department, etc,   It allows affiliation with Newton County Central Dispatch, All-Call Dispatch, Fire dispatch, etc. When it allows affiliation the same TG is heard on both sites. To get the full benefit of the system, you need to put both control channels in your scanner.
