Shore Beach Service holds a contract with the Town of Hilton Head Island to provide beach patrol, lifeguard services, equipment rentals and garbage pickup to all Hilton Head Island beaches through December 2029 and has been the exclusive operator with these rights since 1992. SBS lifeguards and patrollers operate internally on the UHF analog frequency shown below, and externally to contact Hilton Head 911 on the Palmetto 800 system. Patrollers and supervisors carry both radios, as shown in the photo at the link above.
