Georgia DOT HERO Units (Highway Service Patrol)

Zone 1 (central) units cover I-85 from North Druid Hills south through the city to I-285 on the south end, I-75 from roughly I-285 south through the city to I-285 on the south end, Langford Parkway, and I-20 inside I-285.  These units use Alpha Dispatch channel at all times.

Zone 2 (north) units cover I-85 from roughly North Druid Hills out, I-285 from GA-400 to I-20 on the east side, US-78, GA-400, I-285 from GA-400 to I-20 on the west side, I-75 from I-285 out on the northwest side, the Northwest Corridor Express Lanes, and I-575. These units use Bravo Dispatch most of the time, but use Alpha Dispatch when a 2nd dispatch channel is not in service.

Zone 3 (south) seems to cover I-85, I-75 and I-675 roughly outside I-285 on the south side. These units use Charlie Dispatch during some busy rush hours, but use Alpha Dispatch when a 3rd dispatch channel is not in service.

Northwest Corridor channel is used for sweeps and reversals of the Northwest Corridor express lane system.

South Metro channel is used for sweeps and reversals of the South Metro express lane system.
