System Notes
Ameren's Callaway Energy Center is Missouri's only nuclear power plant, located near Reform, Mo about 10 Mi SE of Fulton. The 1,190-megawatt Westinghouse four-loop pressurized water reactor and a General Electric turbine-generator has a 553 foot tall cooling tower visible from I-70. It provides about 15% of total electric generation in Missouri.
Ameren is also building a 250-megawatt solar photovoltaic generating installation there.
It was listed as site 998 in the main Ameren Trunked System, but it is a stand-along system.
