Approach and departure are coordinated through Potomac TRACON and use the same TRACON frequencies as Baltimore/Washington International Airport.
Airport is home to:
- Warfied Air National Guard Base (Maryland Air National Guard 135th TAG, Maryland Air National Guard 175th TFG)
- Baltimore City Police Aviation Unit ("Foxtrot")
- Maryland State Police Aviation Detachment (includes Trooper 1, the aviation headquarters and aircarft maintenance base)
Maryland State Police Aviation is located at the Strawberry Point area of the airport. Trooper 1 is stationed at Martin State while Troopers 2 through 8 are scattered at different points around Maryland. Also stationed at Martin State are Trooper 9 (Cessna 172) and Trooper 10 (King Air C-90). See the Maryland State Police page for other frequencies used by Trooper helicopters.
Baltimore County helicopter units Air 1 and Air 2 are also stationed at Martin State airport in the Strawberry Point area. Their primary communications are on the Baltimore County trunked radio system.
