The communities that use the "Western Wayne Mutual Aid Radio System," have decided to migrate to the "MPSCS TRS," by early January, 2014. This move will save them $2.5 million dollars, which would have been needed to upgrade this system to the ASTRO 7.13 operating platform. Instead the final bill will be $200,000 spread among the the five communities to join the statewide interoperability platform. When the changeover is completed in early 2014, this system will be deactivated.
