DHEC uses several sets of talkgroups on the Palmetto 800 system as its primary communication system. There is a Hospital Disaster Net regional talkgroup set that links all hospitals in the state to SC DHEC that performs a weekly radio check. There is also an Emergency Response Team talkgroup that is used by crews statewide to respond to environmental accidents. The conventional frequencies are used infrequently.
