Burning Man's annual temporary "Black Rock City" is located 12 miles NE of Gerlach, NV (Washoe County) on the BLM Black Rock Desert playa in Pershing County.
The following agencies provide Public Safety for Burning Man:
U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) - encrypted NIFOG VHF P25 repeater
Pershing County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) - Black Rock City (BRC) VHF repeater (below)
Washoe County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) - NSRS Talkgroup WCSO "Yellow" (South County Dispatch)
Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) - NSRS Talkgroup NHP "Reno 3" (Rural)
In addition to these agencies, Burning Man also
contracts Fire and EMS services,
contracts private security (High Rock Security),
and has volunteer Black Rock Rangers
who all operate on the Burning Man CAP radio system.
