If you had Q53 by itself you would need the side dongle to make FPP work. Q52 and 53 together in the FC removes the hardware requirement.

Upgrading MACE board on APX 8000 using KVL4000

Looking for antenna replacement..
The Visar VHF antenna is a good option if you can still find them, but they are frequency band specific and not super wide-band.
