Will County River System

This is also known as the 'River System'. The DuPage, Des Plaines, and Kankakee rivers all pass through Will County. The Three Rivers Manufacturers’ Association, a group of companies working together for workplace and public safety and public relations, most in proximity to these rivers, is a primary user of the system working directly with the Will County EMA.

Will County is currently building a new county-wide E.F. Johnson P25 800MHz system to replace the aging EDACS system. Future status of this system is unknown.

Control channels rotate on a regular basis. Frequencies 854.4875 and 854.3375 are licensed under WPJZ269 and WPMQ851 for the EDACS system but have emission designators permitting use as P25 and could be incorporated into this system. 859.6375 is licensed under WQRR807 for P25 and could become active in this system.

Will County EDACS is patched to the new P-25 system on a few talkgroups - EMA Main is one.  EMA Field Services personnel were recently issued new portable radios that are both EDACS and P-25 capable, as well as the conventional 800 MHz Interop freqs.
