Opened in 1995, minimum security private prison for males run by Management and Training Corporation.

Opened in 1992, Duncan now primarily houses minimum security male geriatric offenders.

Opened in 1963 as a maximum security prison with extensive agricultural operations, and housed Death Row 1965 - 1999.

Opened in 1983 as Ellis II Unit, Estelle is a large maximum security unit with a separate "Super Seg" High Security Unit with its own security fence.  Ellis and Estelle share agricultural acreage in northeast Walker County.

Originally a prison camp since 1935 across the Trinity River from the Eastham farm, Ferguson opened in 1962 as a maximum security facility primarily for young offenders.

Opened in 1995, Goodman houses male offenders in ISF and IPTC programs.

Opened in 1911 as the state's female prison farm, it became a male unit in 1982.

Opened in 1994, houses male offenders typically transferring from jails to permanent prison units.

Opened in 1849, one of the oldest units still operating in the USA.  The original state penitentiary still houses male offenders, many of which are on their final stretch of their sentence before release.  The nation's busiest execution chamber is housed here.

Opened in 1990, a "Super Seg" high security unit was later added to the premises making Gib Lewis a maximum security unit.

Opened as Terrell Unit in 1993, the Polunsky Unit houses the vast majority of male Death Row offenders awaiting their execution date and is a Super Max unit.

Formerly known as the Eastham Unit until 2021, and farmed by convicts since 1896, the prison opened in 1917 as the first maximum security unit in the TDC.  Today it has a large agricultural and garment manufacturing program.  

Opened in 1883 as the Wynne Farm, Texas' third prison farm gained it's iconic building in 1937 and remains a valuable unit for trucking, logistics, supply chain and many other regional operations as well as license plate and road sign manufacturing.

Beto and Gurney are co-located with each other

Opened in 1992, Boyd is a medium security 1000 bed (expanded) facility.

As of December 2020, the Bradshaw SJ is temporarilty closed due to decreased inmate population.

Opened in 1965, Coffield was the first unit in the Tennessee Colony farm.  It is a unique structure to all other prisons in Texas and the largest with over 4100 beds.

Private Prison that houses multiple programs including SAFPF, ISF, IPTC, with both male and female offenders.

Private State Jail operated by Management and Training Corporation.

Opened in 1987, Michael was the first of ten 2250 bed prototype maximum security units built in Texas.  It is co-located the Coffield Unit and shares farm land with Beto, Gurney and Powledge.

Choice Moore and Cole are co-located with each other

Opened in 1982 at Beto II, Powledge is a medium security facility that shares farm acreage with Beto, Coffield, Michael and Gurney.

Opened in 1995, Telford is a 2250 bed prototype maximum security unit.

Opened in 1893, Clemens was the first prison in Brazoria County and still supports extensive farming operations.

Female offender state jail co-located with Plane SJ and Hightower.

As of September 2020, Jester I, which first opened in 1885, is closed permanently.  It's repeater may still be in use for other area units.

Opened in 1917 as the Darrington Unit and known as such until 2021, Memorial supports a large scale agricultural operations in the area and has a heavy focus on faith based rehabilitation.

Female State Jail co-located with Henley SJ and Hightower.

Opened in 1908, Ramsey today supports agricultural and trucking operations for Region 3.

Opened in 1919 as Retrieve, as of December 2020, the unit is permanently closed due to decreased inmate population and modernization costs.  The farming in the area remains active.  Frequencies may still be in use for field operations.

Opened in 1908 with Ramsey, originally called Ramsey II, the Stringfellow Unit is co-located with Ramsey and Terrell to support farming and agricultural operations in the area.

Historically known as Jester II (and Harlem II before that), Carol Vance hosts the system's unique Christian Faith Based (IFI) program.

This prison was renamed to Wayne Scott in 2021 from it's original name, Jester IV.  The former Retrieve Unit which was later named Wayne Scott closed permanently in 2021.

Opened in 1992, the Dolph Briscoe unit is a 1000 bed prototype with expansion dorms.  In July 2021, TDCJ inmates were cleared out to make way for undocumented immigrants with criminal charges as part of Operation Lonestar.

Garza West is co-located with the former Garza East Unit which closed permanently in September 2020.  The units are located on a former military base (NAS Chase Field).  The Region IV offices and Distribution Center are also on the complex.

Lopez SJ is co-located with Segovia TF and adjacent to the Hidalgo County Jail.

Ney and Torres are co-located with each other and share administration.

Sanchez SJ is adjacent to the El Paso County Jail.

Segovia TF and Lopez SJ are co-located with each other.

Private State Jail operated by LaSalle Corrections.

Clements and Neal are co-located with each other.  Neal closed temporarily in December 2020 due to decreasing inmate population.

Formby SJ and Wheeler SJ are co-located with each other.

Jordan and Baten ISF are co-located with each other and are now considered to be a single unit with multiple functions.

Rudd was closed in 2021 4Q.

Wallace and Ware are co-located with each other.  Ware is closed and is still maintained in idle status.

Wheeler and Formby are co-located with each other.

Buffalo Ranch is a 11000 acre farm leased to TDCJ and administered by the Wallace Pack unit in Navasota.  Offenders are bused there from the Pack Trusty Camp daily to work.

These channels may be in use at any unit in the system as they are licensed for low power mobile and portable use statewide by TDCJ.  Most commonly the PL tones will be 67.0 or 100.0 PL if used.  The Common Channel is used statewide as a calling channel and for unit to unit conversations.  These channels may be especially active during escapes and manhunts.
