Description:

For sale is one brand new in Box Kathrein Scala Division CL7-300 broadband log-periodic 225-400 MHz antenna. I opened the box to take pictures of the contents and to inspect the antenna.

  • Heavy-duty construction. Anodized 6061-T6 aluminum elements. Easy element replacement if necessary.

  • Double boom of 6061-T6 rectangular aluminum tube. High front-to-back and front-to-side ratios without minor lobes.

  • 225-400 MHz Frequency range, 9.5 dBi Gain, 50 ohms Impedance, Horizontal or vertical Polarization, >25 dB Front-to-back ratio, and 250 watts (at 50°C) Maximum input power.

  • 48 deg Vertical Beamwidth, 82 deg Horizontal Beamwidth, 1.5:1 Maximum VSWR, N Female RF Connectors, and 120 mile/h Maximum Rated Wind Velocity.

Shipping will be based from zip code 21228. I added a few inches and pounds to the shipping estimate in case you wanted additional protection. UPS Estimate from 21228 to 97405 (across country)  tusing dimensions 66x13x8 inches and 26 pounds. Actual box dimensions are 64x11x6 and 21 pounds.

Additional description courtesy of Fred Daniel:

Log Periodic antennas are wideband & directional, and typically have the performance of a 4 element yagi, but with greater front-to-back ratio. They excel at transmitter combining because of the wide bandwidth, and the power rating is only limited by the feedline and connector. That antenna will easily operate 10 to 15% above and below the frequency specification, so it is a great 216-225 antenna also. That Kathrein brand is a SCALA original design. Very high quality product.

These work well for ribbon systems, along a railroad, river, highway, with two mounted 180 degrees from each other. They would be fed with two feedlines connected to a hybrid coupler. That would provide two additional ports for two duplexed radios, talking both directions without combiner losses.

The only other broadband yagis are made by Sirio WY400-3N as a UHF 400-470 MHz Base Station 3 Element Yagi. The driven element is a very large diameter, as compared to the remaining elements. The power rating is limited to 150 watts. They make wideband VHF yagis and a wideband ground plane with a big radiating element.

Shipping will be based on where you live. I will be shipping from zip 21228 with the following dimensions using the dimensions 66x13x8 inches and 26 pounds. When I ran an estimate to an address across the country it came out to around 100 dollars or so.
