Obama team urges delay in digital TV transition

WASHINGTON -

President-elect Barack Obama is urging Congress to postpone the Feb. 17 switch from analog to digital television broadcasting, arguing that too many Americans who rely on analog TV sets to pick up over-the-air channels won't be ready.

Municipal League, county agree to delay emergency radio vote

ST. LOUIS -- Directors of the St. Louis County Municipal League and a top county official today agreed to delay until Aug. 4 a vote on an 0.1-cent sales tax to build and initially operate a county emergency communications system.
