You might also need to re-format the MicroSD card. EZScan can do that.

Has anyone tried powering a 500 or 106 from a usb charger?
If it runs okay on 4 Ni-Mh (4 X 1.25v = 5v) then a 5 volt supply would run the scanner. But, like you say, it wouldn't charge the batteries. You mig
