In the Montreal area, all the comms (98%) are in I-CALL mode. Very few personnal communications take part on some talkgroups.
Hydro-Quebec is migrating to a P25 hybrid system. 800 Mhz in the Montreal area and 140 MHz for the rest of the province.
PLEASE NOTE THAT 140 MHZ AND 800 MHZ SYSTEM ARE IMCOMPATIBLE - YOU WILL NOT HEAR 800 TG'S ON THE 140 SITES AND REVERSE.
Using a GRE PSR-600 and Pro96Com, monitoring one control channel, I can identified and CONFIRMED WITHOUT ANY DOUBT neighbor sites # with their control channel but there are too many of the same frequencies reused in the HQ system to confirm where these sites are with precision even going thru Industry Canada DB - Need help on identifying callsign, location and frequencies for these sites : 114, 123, 126, 127, 131, 132, 133, 135, 136, 138, 141, 143, 152, 154, 156, 160, 163, 165, 168, 173, 174, 176.
