Fire

Fire Repeaters

There are over 20 different Fire Departments within the Capital Region, and all of them are now able to communicate with each other, thanks to CREST.

The vast majority of departments operate on a CREST talkgroup, with the capability of switching to a unique Fireground Simplex channel should the need arise. CFB Dockyard Fire has abandoned using the CREST network for day to day operations, preferring to rely on a standard simplex dispatch channel (CFB Dockyard Fire).

Most of the Volunteer Fire depts. are paged out by Langford Fire Dispatch on either a VHF or UHF paging network..
