The most common output tone for P&R is D115 but D125 is also used in crowed areas. There are two other DCS tones used but are specific to single repeaters in SoCal. To select the different mountain top sites there are a total of up to eight assigned input DPL/DCS tones.

The common name for the channel displayed by the radio is the site name such as Hector, Diablo, Zion or Pilot. You will rarely, if ever, hear users call the channels by color. That's done by DGS Telecom internally for database purposes. There are times where the repeater name and color are programmed though. The subscriber radios are programmed as needed for the area and rarely, if ever, have all the region's repeaters in them.
