Questions and Answers Regarding the ScanAmerica.us Acquisition
What features are going to be lost with this acquisition?
No features that are currently in place today will be removed from ScanAmerica. All the broadcasting components and audio archives will remain core features.
Does RadioReference plan to charge money for access to the online live feeds?
No. Access to all the live scanner feeds will remain free, including mobile device support.
How soon will all the content be migrated from ScanAmerica to RadioReference?
We expect that over the next two months all the online feeds will be integrated with the RadioReference platform
I am a broadcaster, what changes can I expect during the acquisition?
None really. The process for broadcasting will remain the same and we don't expect in the near term to change any configurations on your end. You will continue to receive reports and information regarding your feeds just as you have in the past.
In addition, broadcasters who maintain a feed that meets a minimum set of requirements will be granted a complementary RadioReference Premium subscription, in addition to recognition in the overall RadioReference community.
Where is Gordon Edwards (the previous owner of ScanAmerica.us) going.
Gordon is joining the RadioReference senior management team as Lead Manager and Administrator -- Live Audio. He will continue to lead all the efforts around management and recruiting of the online scanner feeds.
What is going to happen to the ScanAmerica Forums?
We expect to collapse the ScanAmerica discussion forums into the existing RadioReference forums. There is a tremendous amount of overlap between the forums, however we expect there might be some forums added to RadioReference to accommodate the existing ScanAmerica community.
More information will be published shortly outlining the migration strategy to RadioReference. In the meantime, the RadioReference team would like to welcome aboard the ScanAmerica community!
