Description:

Trimble Placer GPS 450 used for APRS and controlling Uniden Scanners.

These units are in great shape!  It comes with a power cable wired for A , ignition sense, and ground.  I am also including a new 6' serial cable, and new GPS antenna.  Everything you need to get you APRS mobile or location based scanning (except for the radio).

The Placer 450 units provide:

  • 8-channel GPS receiver

  • TAIP, TSIP, RTCM SC-104, NMEA 0183 message format

  • MAP27, CDPD, APCO25 and transparent communications protocol support

I will set the GPS up for NMEA 0183 ouput on the MDT port, and will provide a CD with the proper software so that you can adjust any of the parameters.  I will also supply you with a .pdf of the owner's manual and technical notes.

I have (4) of the Placer 450s running for APRS with my Kenwood D710s and D700, and I use them for control of my Uniden BCD-996T scanners.  They also work great for providing NMEA to my laptop running Delorme mapping software.  The uses are endless when it comes to your GPS needs.

Thanks for looking!!

I ship USPS Priority Mail.  US only.
