Ramsey Active Antenna Covering 1-800MHZ!!!!
This is not a kit. This unit is pre-built and tested.
I've also included some extras that do not come with the original kit;
BNC to BNC cable for interfacing the antenna with your radio, constructed of US made RFC-195 low loss cable, along with a 9V battery to get you started.
Antenna works great and has the following db specs in these frequency ranges;
1 to 150MHz: >20dB 150 to 400 MHz: >12dB 400 to 500 MHz: >10dB 500 to 800MHz: >5dB
I've tested this on both a Grundig Satellit 750 at the air, FM, and shortwave bands, and an analog RS Pro-96 scanner on various frequencies including GMRS and it worked great. GMRS is the frequency used by 2 way walkie talkies and with this antenna I can hear people all around using them, not to mention so much more. Compared side by side with the stock antenna and a 50' longwire and this antenna outperformed both.
Another great thing about this antenna is that it can grow as your needs grow. The included antenna works great, but by all means can be removed and replaced with an antenna of your choice either directly or by cable utilizing a BNC connection (see picture of back panel).
The only real issue I noticed is that this antenna can overload on the shortwave band, especially the very low frequencies (i.e. 2500-7000khz). The solution was to power OFF the antenna and this provided for great gain without overload.
These antennas can be run on an AC adapter (not included, nor does Ramsey include them with the kit) 9-20VDC. As mentioned, I've provided a fresh 9V battery already installed to get you started.
These completed kits are new and only powered on to test for functionality. They each have approximately 10 minutes of testing time on them. NOTE: antenna is for receiving only and is not suitable for transmitting.
I ship same day as payment received, postal hours permitting.

I am in a poor recieving area will this help ? I had recently purchased a amp and all it did was creat more interference issues that were close to the freq.
Would this help or cause the same problems. The one I have looks identical to this.

Hard to say really without knowing more. Many things go into reception including the band you're listening to, time of day, (i.e. shortwave is pretty much non-existent during the day, even with my 300ft longwire), terrain, geographical location, and the like. If you used an active antenna in the past with no results, then this likely in the exact same location and scenario won't work either. I can't say for sure.
