Currently being scanned:

154.340 - Walton County Fire Rescue / EMS Dispatch - This is a VHF in-the-clear simulcast of the encrypted Walton County Digitial TRS talkgroup 35109 (I know, it makes no sense) which was kept active for fire station tone-outs and volunteer paging.  Walton county switched from an analog TRS to a P25 digital TRS in December, 2008 and all public safety talkgroups were encrypted per a decision made by Walton County Central Communications.  Per Director Wendra Williams, "This radio system was not purchased for secrecy. It is a benefit for safety officers."

Note, sometimes the link between the DTRS and VHF screws up and you will only hear the dispatch side of the conversations.  It usually takes them a day or so to notice it and correct it.   Also, when weather conditions change, Pike County Fire/EMS Dispatch will be heard on this same frequency.  Walton County is not transmitting a PL/DPL so this is unavoidable.

154.280 - State Fire Mutual Aid - When an air ambulance is needed, they will communicate with Walton County FIre/EMS via a patch set up by Central Communications.  Please note, the audio on the patched fire channel is very low and is an issue with Walton's equipment, not the scanner.

154.800 - Georgia State Patrol - mobile-to-base

154.680 - Georgia State Patrol - base-to-moble and mobile-to-mobile.  Hopefully only the new Monroe GSP Post 46 which opened on 9/21/2009 and replaced the Conyers post.  This post covers Walton, Rockdale and Newton counties.

"Post 46 includes eight troopers and four supervisors. There are no radio dispatchers based at the new post because communications were being centralized for the region at the Troop E headquarters in Grovetown, according to Post 46 Commander Sgt. Frank Pfirman."
