The receive site is located in Round Lake, IL. Its listening with a ICOM PCR-1000 and its covering the Round lake Area, Hainesville, Grayslake, Fox Lake and Antioch Police dispatch. It's also scanning Quad 1,2 Fire departments for Lake County.
This system is used with the Nat. Weather Service to communicate with trained storm spotters, ham radio operators and emergency management agencies. There is a weekly net Mondays at 8pm Central time.
When not active, regular ham chatter will be heard.
